Privacy policy

We collect only what is needed to run a safe matrimony service:

• Account details — legal name, email address, mobile number and password (stored as a secure hash).
• Profile details you choose to provide — for example date of birth, location, religious practice, education, career, family background, partner preferences and photos.
• Verification documents — such as an NID or passport image — submitted voluntarily for identity verification.
• Activity — interests, shortlists, messages, reports and basic technical data (IP address, device and browser) used for security.

Other members see your first name and initial, age, general location and the profile details you add — subject to your privacy settings. You control who can see your profile, your photos, your family information and your contact details.

Never shown on your profile: your legal name, exact date of birth, email address, phone number, exact address and verification documents. Contact details are shared only with members you have matched with, and only if your settings allow it.

• To create and display your profile, and to recommend profiles based on the preferences you provide.
• To deliver interests, matches, messages and notifications you have asked for.
• To review profiles, verify identities, investigate reports and prevent fraud, scams and abuse.
• To process payments for optional plans.
• To send service emails and, if you opt in, occasional safety tips and news.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• With other members, according to your privacy settings.
• With family members you invite, limited to the permissions you grant.
• With service providers that help us operate (hosting, email/SMS delivery, payment processing), under contract.
• When required by law, or to protect members from serious harm.

Passwords are hashed, sessions are protected, and documents and photos are served only through permission checks. Access by our staff is limited by role and every sensitive admin action is logged.

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, photos, messages and documents are permanently removed, except where we must keep limited records (for example payment records or reports about serious misconduct) for legal or safety reasons.

• Change your privacy settings, or hide your profile, at any time from your dashboard.
• Edit or download the information in your profile.
• Control notification emails and SMS in Settings.
• Deactivate your account temporarily, or delete it permanently.
